Guns Of Fury Review : Guns Of Fury Is So Much Fun!---From A Real Player

I had no preconceived notions about this game, but I must confess that Guns of Fury has truly exceeded my expectations. Being a die-hard Metal Slug enthusiast who has cleared the first three games on one credit (1cc), I consider those to be the epitome of run-and-gun titles. Guns of Fury not only lives up to that legacy but surpasses it, outclassing any Contra game and leaving modern attempts like Cuphead in the dust. Filling such large shoes seemed like a daunting task.

The initial delight is that, despite the graphics being reminiscent of Metal Slug, they are far from a mere clone. Guns of Fury skillfully blends cinematic and gaming influences to carve out its own distinct identity, which is commendable.

When it comes to gameplay, the game nails it on all fronts. The arsenal is impressive and diverse, but most notably, the game excels at allowing players to demolish large parts of the environment, which is immensely satisfying.

Exploration is equally enjoyable, with numerous shortcuts to uncover, hidden spots to find, and items to discover. While the map might not be the most user-friendly and getting lost is somewhat common, it adds to the game's charm. Revisiting areas with new weapons is always a thrill.

In summary, while no one quite knew what to anticipate from Guns of Fury, it has undoubtedly delivered. It's a game that transcends the sum of its parts, offering an experience that's greater than its individual elements.
